Ordering a Maro sofa

All of our designs are made by hand from start to finish in Long Eaton, Notinghamshire using traditional techniques.

You can create your bespoke sofa in three simple steps.

  1. Choose your style & size
  2. Choose your cover
  3. Choose your fabric

Choosing a fabric

When you place a sofa order with us, we’ll work with you to confirm the fabric you love, discuss any access arrangements and then manage your order through the workshop from start to finish.

You can choose any suitable upholstery fabric and either purchase your fabric direct from the supplier and arrange delivery to the workshop, or we can handle the fabric for you.

If you'd like to use a vintage fabric, or mix and match on your sofa then let us know and we can advise on meterage splits.

How much fabric do you need?

Fabric meterage required per size can be found on the product page. At the time of your order confirmation, we’ll be in touch to discuss your fabric selection and let you know final fabric meterage as this can change slightly depending on scale of pattern and the cover style you choose.

How long do they take?

Our lead times are estimated from arrival of the fabric into the workshop. If you have a specific date in mind, or looking for something sooner than the standard 6 weeks then please let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

You’ll be given an estimated date when your order is confirmed and we’ll keep you updated throughout the process ahead of delivery.

Our deliveries typically happen on a Thursday and you’ll be contacted the week before to confirm timings on the day and a morning/afternoon window. The delivery team will be in touch again when they’re on the way to give a more accurate eta on the day. It will always be a two person crew.

A note on access

If you have any concerns around access then we can run through when you place your order. The arms on our Sonder sofa can bolt off and our larger sizes are available as bolt in half so chances are, if you have tricky access we can find a solution so you don't have to compromise on the size or style you love.

Of course, if you’d like to discuss anything before you place your order then please don’t hesitate to get in touch at marohomestudio@gmail.com.

A note from the founder

The ethos behind Maro has always been to champion simple design made well.

The sofa collections have been 3 years in the design and prototyping. It's essentially everything I know from my background in product and marketing for a British furniture company poured into two simple, yet well made designs.

I tend to not buy into trends because in my book, great furniture should last a long time. But I do believe in having the option to refresh and rejuvenate pieces when they need it for even more mileage.

We also veer away from the use of chemically-treated foam and fabrics because I believe if you need to buy new, it should be as toxin free as it can be.

That's why our sofa covers are fully removable, and we'll happily work with any fabric you love - plain, print, pattern and best of all, vintage for something truly unique.
