We make every Sonder Sofa exclusively in Long Eaton, UK — a place long associated with British upholstery craftsmanship.

The frame uses FSC-sourced, kiln-dried beech and birch hardwood for strength, stability and long-term durability. Seat cushions feature an Origins plant foam core wrapped in recycled fibre and feather down, creating supportive comfort with a softer, more relaxed feel. Back cushions combine recycled fibre and feather down for gentle, sink-in comfort.

We can upholster the Sonder in any suitable upholstery fabric, allowing you to choose the colour, texture and character that feel right for your home.

Removable 18cm slim tapered legs for ease of access and allowing for additional low storage underneath the sofa if needed. 

Our standard cushion is an Origins eco-foam core wrapped with Quallofil fibre (made from recycled sea plastic) and European duck feather & down (90/10) seat cushion. Origins foam is derived from plant polymers and sustainable castor oil instead of petrochemical foam. 

Our back cushions are a feather, down & fibre mix for soft, supportive comfort. 

Of course if you'd like a cushion without feather or foam then we'll happily help you find your ideal option. 

A note on our cushions ~ we’ve developed our cushions with longevity in mind. They may feel firm at first, and we recommend giving them 3 months to ‘bed in’ and mould to your body, the way you sit on your sofa and temperature. 

We’re confident you’ll love them but if you don’t, we offer a cushion replacement in year one for ultimate satisfaction (and peace of mind). 

Single seat and multiple seat cushion options are available. Please note sofa sizes 160cm and below have a single seat cushion unless specified otherwise. 

Traditional FSC-sourced kiln-dried hardwood frame glued, screwed and dowelled for longevity.

Serpentine steel sprung seat and backs with hessian, coconut & natural latex rubbarised horsehair and jute binds and padding. 

We use a wool interliner under each removable cover as an alternative to FR treated barrier cloth.

The arms on our Sonder sofas are available as a bolt off option as standard. For larger sizes and narrow access points we can make in half also. If you have any queries about access into your home and which size is right for you, please let us know. We will always try to work a solution so you don't have to compromise.

Made to order from frame to finished in a family-run workshop in Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire and delivered in 8 - 10 weeks. 

Pricing shown includes UK delivery but excludes fabric. Meterage required per size indicated.

Once you place your order we will get in touch to confirm fabric and then handle your order from start to finish with the workshop. We are more than happy to help source fabrics if needed.
