Our Sonder tailored slipcover sofa

has a gently flared arm profile and classic, supportive comfort.  

The body and cushion covers are fully removable and you can have this in any fabric you love. 

From full florals to fun stripes and beautifully soft linens, this versatile shape adapts to showcase your personal style. If you need help sourcing or choosing a fabric then just let us know - we'd be happy to help you find your ideal fabric. 

We've outlined some of our most popular sizes but we can work to any width, modular and corner configurations.

We can adapt the Sonder sofa to include a sofa bed mechanism & pocket sprung mattress too. We build this into the base profile so your seat and depth proportions remain the same. 

Crafted using entirely natural, low-VOC and recyclable materials.

About the Sonder

Removable 18cm slim tapered legs for ease of access and allowing for additional low storage underneath the sofa if needed. 

Cushion interiors

We offer 3F Origins foam wrapped with Quallofil fibre (made from recycled sea plastic) and European duck feather seat cushions as standard.

Origins foam is derived from plant polymers and sustainable castor oil instead of petrochemical foam. 

Our back cushions are full fibre for soft, supportive comfort.

Of course if you'd like a cushion without feather or foam then we'd be happy to suggest alternatives.

Single seat and multiple seat cushion options are available. Please note sofa sizes 160cm and below have a single seat cushion unless specified otherwise. 

Our frames

Traditional FSC-sourced kiln-dried hardwood frame glued, screwed and dowelled for longevity.

Serpentine steel sprung seat and backs with hessian, coconut & natural latex rubbarised horsehair and jute binds and padding. 

We use a wool interliner under each removable cover as an alternative to FR treated barrier cloth.

Access options

The arms on our Sonder sofas are available as a bolt off option as standard. For larger sizes and narrow access points we can make in half also. If you have any queries about access into your home and which size is right for you, please let us know. We will always try to work a solution so you don't have to compromise.

Delivery & lead times

Made to order from frame to finished in a family-run workshop in Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire and delivered in 6-8 weeks. 

Pricing shown includes UK delivery but excludes fabric. Meterage required per size indicated.

Once you place your order we will get in touch to confirm fabric and then handle your order from start to finish with the workshop. We are more than happy to help source fabrics if needed.

Meg's design notes

I wanted the Sonder sofa to feel like a truly timeless, classic great shape of a sofa.

The design language is simple, transcending trends and letting your choice of fabric sing whether its a slubby linen, strong stripe or romantic floral.

The gentle flare of the arm is a small design detail to make it feel unique, we've included a subtle zipper along the back seam so the loose covers hug the shape and really show off the tailoring involved. Taking the loose covers off is easy when you fancy a change or need to put them in the wash.

A softly sloped sprung rake on the back and sprung seat give optimum comfort and longevity - it's a Long Eaton signature making for a wonderfully comfy sofa.
