Turned by hand in Leicestershire, our Strobe conical lamp base is made from a single oak piece and suits a wide variety of shade styles.

Wired with a 2m woven chestnut flex, UK plug and finished with brass fixings. 

Lamp height to top of fixing 40cm, lamp width at base 10cm

About our lighting

Wired & tested

We wire and test our lamps to order. Each one is PAT tested and wired with a 2m natural flex cord and your choice of brass, bronze or nickel hardware. We use safety bayonet switches, compatible with a standard B22 max 40w lightbulb.

Handmade in Leicestershire

Our Strobe conical lamp bases are made from a single Oak piece. Hand-turned on a traditional lathe by an artisan woodworker in Leicestershire, no two are the same. Please expect some surface knots and burls - all part of the charm.

Lacquered finishes

We use a natural beeswax oil to protect and finish our lamp bases, but if you'd like them spray lacquered in a custom finish then we can match to any paint profile. This is done by hand for the perfect high gloss finish.

Delivery & lead times

Please allow 2 weeks for wiring and testing of your lamp base ahead of dispatch. If you've chosen to custom lacquer then we'll aim to do this within 2 weeks too. If you're in a hurry then please let us know when you order and we'll do our best to accommodate!

Shades we love

Spoilt for choice, but there are a few shades we think look really great with our bases from fellow independent makers.

For a real statement, the Big Wavy from Munro & Kerr looks stunning atop our Ziggy base (we also love the baby wavy with our Strobe style).

For classic, beautifully made shapes, take at look at Hum London - we especially love the Juno and Celestial shades in large and medium cone sizes.

And for a sleek, handmade addition to your Strobe lampbase, we don't think you can beat one of Ceau Store's gorgeous handmade pleated shades.

All of the above are handmade in small batches by brilliantly talented craftspeople.
