Meet Elvet, an exclusive ottoman created in partnership with interior design studio and sustainable craft champions, Harford House. 

We've placed Carina's 100% pure wool Welsh blanket design on a new ottoman shape. Each ottoman is inclusive of 3m of handwoven fabric.

Inspired by the classic Caernarfon geometric pattern & Parsons shapes; our Elvet ottoman features a boxy, low profile with a fully upholstered frame and fixed comfy cushion topper. Shape and simple, easy comfort in one. 

Named after Elvet Mill where the wool begins its transformative journey in the hands of master-weaver Daniel Harris at London Cloth Co, our Elvet ottoman treasures traditional loom-weaving, frame-making and hand-stitched upholstery methods. 

We have a limited number of 6 ottomans available in this run, first come first served.

About the Elvet

Why choose the Elvet?

The Elvet ottoman is a celebration of independent, time-trusted craftsmanship. Combining an exclusive Caernarfon Welsh Blanket design created between sustainable design studio Harford House and Daniel Harris of London Cloth Co with a low, boxy fully upholstered ottoman shape. 

The fixed comfy cushion topper is perfect for fuss-free comfort, developed to keep it's shape whislt ,/;ll;.

Elvet dimensions

A very easy-to-live-with 36cm h, 100cm w, 60cm d the Elvet hits just under most sofa seat heights for effortless comfort or pop a  large tray on top of the cushion with your favourite books for a multi-functional hero you'll use time and time again. 

Cushion interiors

The Elvet has a fixed cushion topper made from British wool and feather/down for shape and comfort. 

Our frames

Traditional FSC-sourced timber makes up Elvet's low boxy frame. Inspired by original Parson's desgins, Elvet combines form and function.

Easy peasy! Elvet's proportions mean it'll happily fit through even the narrowest of doorways. 

Delivery & lead times

Made to order from frame to finished in a family-run workshop in Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire we have a limited initial run of 6 Elvet ottomans available. First come, first served and available for delivery before Christmas 2026. Once sold out, our Elvet ottoman will be available on a preorder basis with our next batch available March 2027.

Low, sleek and comfy our Elvet ottoman combines form and function whilst showing off the exclusive Welsh Blanket wool design beautifully. Handwoven and handcrafted from start to finish, it's a real celebration of time-trusted craft techniques.

Elvet Mill

Tucked into the Cothi Valley at Cynwyl Elfed, Carmarthenshire, Elvet is one of only 7 working woollen mills left in Wales. 

Originally established as a tannery, the oldest sections of the mill building date back to 1840. 

Elvet Mill changed hands in 2023 after the previous custodian Mike Tollput retired, aged 92.

Daniel Harris of London Cloth has spent the last 15 years rescuing numerous looms and historic machinery from disused or collapsing mills, equipment that would most likely otherwise be lost forever to scrapyards. 

The opportunity to take on Elvet Woollen Mill was one that he could not pass up. With his careful and very skilful restoration work, these looms are now not only weaving cloth again, but now have a home again in Wales and comprise the largest operational collection of historic textile machinery in the UK.

“There are only about 100 working looms left in the UK. Finding people who can operate or repair them is incredibly difficult. We must protect our industrial heritage—because once it’s gone, it’s gone.”

Design notes

What started as a custom project using remnants from Harford House' original partnership with Elvet Mill, we've enjoyed developing this ottoman and investing in another round of loom production to bring this exclusive design to more homes.

Seren frill corner sofa/sofa-bed

If there was a sofa that showed off custom upholstery perfectly suited to purpose, it would be this.

Beyond a beautiful crowd-pleasing sofa the sofa was made in modular sections underneath the Colefax & Fowler Jardine frill slipcover to navigate medieval hallways and doorways in this French chateau.

Destined for the guest and games room, the left hand section contains a double pull-out sofa bed with sprung mattress whilst the right hand side is our standard Seren frame.

We handled the delivery & install direct for a smooth journey to its forever home in Normandy.

Seren chair with tailored cover

Deep seated, super comfy and an excellent Pierre Frey Konya stripe for this Seren chair destined for a lovely bay window spot in London.

We adjusted our usual Seren base to 80cm wide x 90cm deep for a neater profile and love how this bold woven stripe complements the softer pinks in the room.

Seren frill sofa

A Seren frill sofa for this Cornish cosy retreat - ideally placed for guests to take in the view over Mounts Bay.

Our cushions comprise a plant foam core with the softest feather down wrap that keep their shape without the need to plump all the time - ideal for holiday homes too where keeping things looking clean and comfy is key.

We used a remnant romantic Colefax Briar floral slipcover.

Seren box pleat sofa

A custom box pleat slipcover Seren sofa for British textile designer Jessica Osborne's woven fabric collection at Focus, Chelsea Design Centre.

We added custom bolsters in Jessica's Phoenix weave to help the sofa feel inviting for visitors to the stand, for ease of access the sofa was made in 3 sections underneath the box pleat slipcover.
